What do you really want?

Hello Reader,

I hope you are doing well today. I just completed my 4-part series on the podcast. Life, Unedited is magical is available now. But I wanted to talk to you about how life is unfolding for many of us.

I get it. Life is weird right now. Everything seems to be happening all over the place at the same time, and some days it feels like everyone is losing it a little, including me. I have had more WTF moments in the last few years than I ever imagined I would have at this big age, and I suspect I am not the only one.

Over the years, though, I have developed a little toolkit for finding my way back to myself when everything around me feels uncertain, noisy or completely out of my control. It did not come from a certification or a five-step system I bought from somebody on the internet. It began with one question that I have returned to again and again:

What do I really want?

For years, I honestly had no idea.

I walked through life doing the things I thought I was supposed to do, following the path that had been laid out in front of me without spending much time questioning where it was actually taking me. And if you are Gen X, you probably understand exactly what I mean. We grew up with a directive. There were things you did, responsibilities you handled, expectations you met, and then you kept moving. There were not a lot of instructions, but there was a pretty clear understanding that you were supposed to figure it out, contribute, take care of your people and keep the wheels turning.

Looking back, I don't think our lives were ever meant to be entirely about us. There was a strong sense of the collective, of making sure the family was okay, the community was okay, everybody had what they needed and you did your part. There was something beautiful about that, and I would not trade all of it away. But there was also very little encouragement to stop and ask, What does the woman I am becoming actually want for her life?

And that question feels very different now.

We have an opportunity that many women before us did not have in quite the same way: the opportunity to pause long enough to consider the life we want rather than simply continuing the life we inherited, the life we were handed, or the life we became very good at managing.

That does not mean throwing everything away or suddenly deciding that everything you have built was wrong. It means giving yourself permission to look at your life with fresh eyes and ask what still belongs there, what has changed, and what might be possible if you allowed yourself to imagine your life from the perspective of the woman you are becoming.

That is where Envision began for me, and it is why I created the Envision Intensive.

It is a private four-hour experience built around the question that has helped me find my footing more times than I can count: What do you really want?

We will spend those four hours getting underneath the noise, looking honestly at where your life is right now, and giving you the space to think about what you want the whole of your life to look and feel like from here.

Because sometimes the thing we need most is not another answer.

Sometimes we need the space to finally ask ourselves the right question.

And maybe yours is the same one that started all of this for me:

What do I really want?

Peace and blessings,

Monica Wisdom
